Welcome to our blog! At last, after more than a year of investigations, and of months of waiting, we could start the construction of our first hollow wooden surfboards. We wanted to work during the summer, but finding the tools and materials took us way longer than expected. On top of that, Kenley had her accident, and that stopped her from all physical activity, and for now she has only one functioning arm, until the other one heals completely. I couldn' t let the year finish without having built at least one board, so I went like crazy looking for what we still needed to start. The most important thing: access to bigger woodworking machines, because we don' t have the $$ to buy them... That is how I started visiting some shops to tell people about our project and what we needed from them. In one of the shops I met Jerome, who works with wood, but on top of that is passionate about surf and had already shaped some foam boards. A great strike of luck, considering we are in Montreal and not in California, where everybody surfs.
So last weekend we took the wood to the shop and started working immediately. Man it feels good to finally be making some progress!
Bienvenues a notre blog!
